Make a difference.

Volunteer.

Do you have time to spare and a love of dogs?

Why not become a volunteer? Volunteers are an essential component of any community organization and vital to its growth and continuity.

For the love of dogs.

The club is run, organized, and coordinated by an amazing team of volunteers. Each of our volunteers brings their own set of talents to the club whether that be as an instructor, committee member, trial assistant, or gate attendance. Each role is vital to the everyday running of the club.

How can I help?

  • event volunteers

  • set up and pack down

  • instructor

  • committee member

I think I might like to be an instructor.

That’s great! If you are enthusiastic about helping other dog owners train their dogs, the Club offers an instructor's course.  The course is delivered by one of the Club's senior instructors, or guest trainers, and is complemented by practical sessions across the grades. Please speak to one of the committee members or instructors if you are interested.

How can I help at events?

On assessment days we need Stewards to assist the Judge in the ring, organize the handler and dogs into the correct order of entry into the ring, hold score sheets for the Judges, and generally help where needed. Training and support are available for Stewards as it is a vital role supporting Judges. On trial days we are always grateful for any member to come along and assist - even attending as a spectator can build your knowledge of the sports of Obedience, Rally, and Agility. To be a Steward on official trial days you will need to be a member of the Tasmanian Canine Association https://tasdogs.com/ .
